Kid Rock’s comments about the wildfires devastating large areas of Los Angeles County have gone viral on social media.

Fueled by dry conditions and strong winds, the Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, Lidia and Kenneth fires have caused unprecedented devastation across Southern California over the past several days, with damages estimated at up to $150 billion.

The fires, which started on January 7, have killed 24 people with an additional 16 people reported missing. Around 150,000 people are under evacuation orders. More than 12,300 structures have been destroyed, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

With the fires also displacing, injuring, and killing countless animals, Kid Rock, whose given name is Robert James Ritchie, took to X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday to share a link to an Instagram post from country music singer Miranda Lambert.

“These are animals at @pasadenahumane,” Lambert captioned a selection of photos showing various injured animals. “They are coming into the shelters with burns from the fire. Their biggest need is donations for medical care.”

Adding his own words, Kid Rock wrote on X: “Miranda asked me to re post this, and I do what that cowgirl tells me! Please help out if you can. God Bless everyone affected by these horrible fires.”

Concluding his post, the “Bawitdaba” hitmaker took aim at California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, both of whom have faced public criticism amid the raging fires.

“PS – F the Mayor and The Governor!” Kid Rock wrote. “Hollywood liberals need to wake up and stop being so WOKE!”

As of press time, the post has garnered more than 200,000 views.

President-elect Donald Trump, of whom Kid Rock is a supporter, led the way in casting blame on Newsom when he wrote on his Truth Social platform last week: “One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning down to the ground. It’s ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign. This is all his fault!!!”

Trump, a Republican, also alleged that Democrat Newsom “refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way.”

Izzy Gardon, Newsom’s director of communications, told Newsweek in response: “There is no such document as the water restoration declaration, that is pure fiction. The governor is focused on protecting people, not playing politics, and making sure firefighters have all the resources they need.”

Bass’ office denied a report that she dismissed Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley on Friday after the two met amid the ongoing wildfires.

Immediate details of the meeting are unknown, but Bass’ office told Newsweek via email that: “The Mayor and Chief met. The priority remains fighting these fires and protecting Angelenos.”

An article published by the Daily Mail on Friday night said: “LA Fire Chief is dismissed by Mayor Karen Bass after speaking out over cuts to her department as deadly blazes devastate city.”

In an email to Newsweek following the report, Bass’ office said: “This is false.”

Bass declared a state of emergency over the fires, and officials have warned that the worst may be yet to come as extreme winds that have challenged efforts to contain the blazes are expected to continue for days.

Evacuations have caused heavy traffic, with some residents abandoning their cars and seeking shelter on the beach, while others, including elderly residents at a Pasadena care home, were evacuated just in time
