Taylor Swift’s Former Friend Is ‘Going Through It’ After She ‘Suffered’ Post-Fallout

They don’t have “bad blood” per say, but one of Taylor Swift’s old friends is struggling after their friend breakup. Jamie King and Taylor Swift used to be best buds, but the two aren’t on speaking terms anymore.

According to a source to Page Six, the pair “haven’t been in touch for a long time” but assures that King “misses Taylor” and hopes they can “reconnect at some point.” King used to be part of Taylor’s core girl group but has been missing from them for a while. “Jaime made Taylor her son’s godmother for a reason and she wants to continue that friendship,” the source recalled when King made her a godmother in 2015.

Actress Jaime King, recording artist Lorde and recording artist Taylor Swift attend the 2015 InStyle And Warner Bros. 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards Post-Party at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 11, 2015 in Beverly Hills, California.

King divorced from her ex-husband Kyle Newman, who directed The Tortured Poets Department artist’s “Style” video, and she’s been living in tough conditions since. “She is going through a rough time right now. Between being forced to move out of her rental home because of the lawsuit involving her former landlord, and her ex getting sole physical custody of her boys, it’s all been very challenging,” the insider told the site.

The timing of the news has raised eyebrows, especially with all the recent buzz around Taylor’s alleged friendship drama with longtime bestie Blake Lively. For those not caught up with the drama with the (former) BFFS, Taylor Swift was reportedly roped into the Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively lawsuits by the Gossip Girl actress. The tension arose after text messages emerged in Justin Baldoni’s countersuit against Lively, where the actress allegedly referred to Swift as one of her “dragons” alongside husband Ryan Reynolds. Sources close to Swift told TMZ she was “royally pissed off” about being characterized this way, especially since she “never had a dog in the fight.”

King is reportedly trying to get better and “doing her best to stay positive and she is determined to gain physical custody back of her sons,” the source said. “But the first step is working towards unsupervised visits.”
