Kylie & Jason Kelce’s New Baby’s Name Has a Key Difference From the Rest of Their Kids—But She’s ‘Still One of Us’

Kylie Kelce Explains How She and Husband Jason Landed on the Name Finnley for Baby No. 4: 'Had to Run It Back to the Archives'

One thing we know about Kylie Kelce is that she will give us the straight facts. The wife of former NFL player Jason Kelce and sister-in-law of Travis Kelce—yes, the one who is notoriously dating Taylor Swift—isn’t just famous for her family connections. No, she’s become famous for being who she is, and that’s a straight shooter. Case in point, a discussion about her new baby she had on her Not Gonna Lie podcast just a few days after giving birth to her fourth child.

The postpartum episode of the podcast, which was recorded on Tuesday, April 1st—two days after Kelce gave birth—and premiered on Thursday, April 3rd, saw the mother of four share details about her birth and even make fun of herself for her daughter’s name, which is Finnley “Finn” Anne Kelce.

According to Kelce, she and Jason took a while to settle on a name, particularly because the new baby’s name doesn’t share one important characteristic with her older siblings: it doesn’t have two Ts in it. Kylie and Jason’s older daughters are named Wyatt, Eliotte, and Bennett. “If we don’t have two Ts, it’s okay, and she’s still one of us,” Kylie quipped in the podcast.

The decision, according to Kylie Kelce, wasn’t easy. In fact, the newest baby didn’t have a name for the first 24 hours of her life. “We had an idea. We had discussed names with anyone that we could trust to not share names, and we didn’t go with a single option that we had been discussing,” Kylie said. At one point, she even considered calling her “Baby Girl Kelce.” Why not? “I considered just letting that one roll,” Kylie shared. “It was gonna be a very, like, Phoebe from Friends moment of like, ‘Oh, you named her Baby Girl.’ ”

By the time they were ready to leave the hospital, all she was sure of was the middle name, Anne. “It’s the most generic middle name you could possibly have,” she explained, adding, “I love that I’m just roasting myself.” But according to Kylie, Anne “covers a lot of people” in her life, including her own mom, her paternal grandmother, and her sister.

Other names considered were Colette, Georgie, and Winifred.

Ultimately, they settled on Finnley, or Finn, which had been a contender for her second daughter’s name. And even though the name was picked in a rush, Kelce shared that she has grown to like it for her daughter. “She’s very much a Finn. Like, she’s a cute, little Finn.”

And though Kylie Kelce has a podcast where she welcomes feedback from people on her personal life, she was very clear on her position on people’s opinions on her choice of baby names. “I totally respect your opinion on the names of our children. You’re allowed to have your own opinion, but I actually don’t care what it is. And I mean that in the most, like, loving and respectful way.”

We know who approves: uncle Travis, whose first reaction upon learning of his new niece’s name during the episode of New Heights podcast was, “Finn Anne, that’s adorable!”
